Terms of service

Service Book provides tamper-evident digital service histories for UK vehicles. Owners hold their garage free of charge; verified workshops subscribe to issue stamps; anyone can verify a stamp’s integrity free of charge. We are independent of any manufacturer or dealer group.

You sign in with one-time email codes. You are responsible for access to your email inbox. Claiming a vehicle asserts that you are its current keeper; false claims may be reversed and repeat abuse leads to suspension.

Once issued, a stamp cannot be edited or deleted — by you, the workshop, or us. Mistakes are handled with append-only corrections that sit beneath the original. By issuing a stamp you accept its permanence. Stamps issued fraudulently may be flagged by the platform, but never silently removed — transparency over erasure.

Verification proves a record has not changed since issue and identifies its issuer. It does not guarantee the underlying work was performed to any standard. “Verified” reflects our checks on the workshop’s business identity, not an endorsement of workmanship. Disputes about work quality sit between you and the workshop.

Plans are billed monthly via Stripe (Starter £29/mo, Workshop £79/mo, Group by agreement, all excl. VAT) with a 60-day free trial. You may cancel at any time; stamps already issued remain valid and verifiable forever. Verification may be revoked for fraud, misrepresentation or ceasing to trade — issued stamps keep the tier they were issued with.

No scraping of plate lookups, no attempts to identify keepers, no automated harvesting of shared views, no issuing stamps for work not performed. Rate limits are enforced and abuse is logged.

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to fees paid in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or matters that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales, which governs these terms.
